Preconception Care
Preconception care can look many ways. It's your journey! You can learn to functionally improve your health through nutrition and lifestyle, track your cycles to achieve or avoid pregnancy, expand your awareness of sexual health, improve your relationships, write a pregnancy plan, or just get labs drawn and interpreted. There are many options in this category.

Prenatal Care
Prenatal visits are scheduled every 4-6 weeks for the first 28 weeks of pregnancy, every 2 weeks from 28 to 36 weeks, and weekly from 36 weeks to birth or 41 weeks. At 41 weeks, prenatal visits occur twice weekly.

Your initial prenatal visit will last about 90min. At this visit we will sign documents, discuss your intake information (completed online by you prior to our visit), and I will offer a basic physical exam as well as initial lab work.
Most other visits usually last about an hour. At every visit we will discuss various topics related to your stage of pregnancy, your options for testing, resources available, nutritional intake, and your birth/postpartum plans. I will monitor your vitals, your baby's heart rate, and measure their growth.
These visits are where we develop a working communication style and a trusting relationship so that I may best serve you.

Birth Center or Homebirth
In addition to homebirth, I offer services in both Viroqua, and La Farge.
I begin being on call for your labor and birth at 37 weeks gestation. During this time we will be in communication as needed for your comfort and care. Once labor is active, you can come to the birth center or I will come to your home to monitor and support your process. As your labor progresses, a second midwife will arrive to assist. After you and your new baby are stable, we will stay a minimum of 2 hours postpartum to monitor you both, clean you up, feed you, and tuck you both in bed or send you home.

Postpartum visits occur at 24-48hrs, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, and 6 weeks.
